The Soviet Union dumped 1.7 million tons of grain on Western markets during the Genocide. Nearly a fifth of a ton of grain was exported for each person who died of starvation.

A bird has made his home in the crook of an old sickle hanging on a barn wall. In its retired state, the blade seemingly poses no risk to the delicate home or to the bird itself. After all, the sickle is a common tool in this environment; the bird has seen many a sickle used during the harvest. Why should the bird fear for its safety?
